Mel Gibson made a mistake. He said stupid shit in a fit of rage. Women make men crazy, well really love makes people crazy. I don’t know if Mel Gibson is a racist, I do know I’m not racist or homophobic and I have said ignorant shit because I was upset with someone I love. My wife had this friend from work they were always texting and sending each other emojis, she always told me “I think he’s gay. You don’t have to worry” because one time he said he felt bad about being a CIS white male and sometimes he wished he gay. Plus he had pinkish blonde dyed hair and like 10 piercings on one ear. Then one day he gets a bonus at work, technically he was her manager, and their corporate office people would come in and ask crew members questions and if they answer them all correctly the manager would get a bonus. It was an incentive to properly train their employees. Well my wife answered all the questions right so he gives her 1000 dollars of his bonus, which couldn’t have been much more than 2-3,000 dollars total. He made 18-19 an hour so that was good amount of money to him. That’s when I started questioning their friendship. I have plenty of friends girl and guy both and I would never give any of them 1,000 dollars. Then one day she gets a promotion and is transferred to another store and they were texting and he said something that was a little out of line, along the lines of “Now we don’t have any sexy moms I can check out anymore”. To her credit she showed me the message when he sent it, because it even made her question his intentions. So I asked her to see the rest of their conversations and it was chock full of warning signs winky emojis, hearts, I miss you’s on both sides, making schedules so they work the same day, and constantly asking her to ride around smoke weed with him, even though he knows she stopped smoking weed when she had kids. She always made excuses not to, but I also noticed all the times he tried to make up excuses to drive to her store to get product, even though there were three stores closer that she would try to recommend. She wanted to hangout with him because they were friends and most of her friends from school either got on drugs or went to make a family like her and they just grew apart. So when she finally had a good friend I tried to supportive even after seeing all that. I mean she was telling him she missed working with him and she would always text him about the crazy things that happened at work. Stuff she would try to talk to me about but I haven’t worked in the food industry since in almost 10-15 years since I was in high school. So I wasn’t the most engaging person to talk to and I knew that. It wasn’t until the second time he blantantly made a pass that I lost it. He had flirted a bit before but it was all kind of innocent, maybe I’m just overthinking it wording, but this time he said “I miss when we would work in the kitchen together. I would slide by you from behind and see how close I get from rubbing against your ass.” He said some other things about checking out her ass when she bent over before but that was just too much for me, because I felt disrespected and she felt kind of violated. So I confronted him and at one point I called faggot, for his remarks about hating that he was straight and how he dresses weird, and I immediately regretted it. I should have stopped with just hitting him, unless you ask my wife, I regret that part to, but the homophobic remarks part are what I felt bad about. My daughter thinks she might be gay, she is only 10, so I tell her she doesn’t even know what love or attraction is yet, but still I have friends that are gay and my cousin is trans. I don’t understand it all, but I know it’s not my place to judge them. I love them and I respect their wishes. That was a long winded way of explaining that sometimes we say things out of character in the heat of passion. That doesn’t mean we have that hate in our heart. Sometimes we just want to say the hurtful things we can to get under the persons skin and I think that’s what happened with Mel Gibson.

I don't think Rob really clicked with Safdie bros. They were supposed to be this hardcore alternative filmmakers, but turned out to be really into success and business, as Rob brought them the opportunity, while Rob cared more about the art and self development, which has brought him success as well. But with Rob the success like follows him everywhere, he is not after it. He can't help the magnetism he's got. It's like the most mesmerizing thing.

I find this to be one of the most captivating documentaries ever. Vivian's work is brilliant...beautiful, interesting, unusual, and disturbing all in one. John is also amazing in his determination. I am so curious, though....how is such a young person with no steady employment financially capable of all of this? After his museum approaches failed, how was he able to hook up with well-known photographers for their opinions? It's not easy, by any means for an artist to get their foot in the door, let alone be financially capable of pulling off a complete gallery exhibition. Framing, printing, matting all of that work on his own? How?
